Which MOT class should I choose?

Class 4 includes ordinary cars, motor caravans and goods vehicles up to 3,000kg design gross weight. Class 1 is for motorcycles up to 200cc; Class 2 covers motorcycles over 200cc. Classes 3, 5 and 7 cover other specified vehicles. Special cases apply, so check the official vehicle-class table and confirm suitability with the centre.

For motorhomes and larger vehicles, ask about size and lifting limits as well as test class. This directory does not cover the separate HGV, bus and trailer testing network: use the official booking guidance.

Where do the listings and map positions come from?

Centre records come from the DVSA active MOT test stations list, published 30 September 2026. Listings describe that release and may have changed since. They are not reviews or endorsements. Prices, opening hours and live appointments are not supplied in this dataset.

Postcodes provide approximate map positions. Centres whose postcodes cannot be located remain available in text searches.

Distances are approximate straight-line miles between postcodes, not driving distances. Directions open Google Maps using the listed name and address; check the destination before travelling.

Privacy, maps and corrections

This finder uses no analytics, advertising trackers or saved search history. Town and centre-name searches run in your browser. A full postcode may be sent to Postcodes.io to find its location. Choosing “Show map” loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. External services receive the usual connection details when used. The mapping library is hosted on MOTUK.

To report incorrect centre information, contact MOTUK and include the centre name, postcode and site number shown in its listing. Confirm bookings, fees and current test classes with the centre directly.
